A cleft slate face gives grip underfoot, which is why slate ends up in entries and mudrooms in the first place. This is the walking surface of a step, made with a finished front edge rather than a cut one.

The body is 20 mm and the edges are rectified, so it lays with a tight grout joint. The surface is matte. One box covers 3.88 sq ft, 2 pieces.
