Wall requirement

WALL REQUIREMENT

The wall should be strong and flat, surface be smooth. The wall should be waxed / printed. Wall should be clean and dry. If tiling is on plywood, seal the surface with 50% PVA + water.

TILE PREPARATION

Mix tiles from different cartons for blending shades. Provide ample lighting. Spread tiles on floor to inspect. Immerse tiles in water for 15–20 minutes before fixing.

TILES LAYING

Apply adhesive and place first tiles from a corner. Press each tile evenly. Cover the section that requires no cutting and leave for 12 hours before continuing.

TAMPING PROCESS

Ensure proper tile contact by tapping gently with a rubber mallet to remove voids.

APPLYING GROUT

After 24 hours apply grout diagonally. Fill joints properly, wipe extra grout with a sponge before it hardens.

CURVE CUTTING

To fill curved areas, mark the curve on cardboard, transfer it to tile, and cut accordingly.

ROUND CUTTING

For pipes, mark circle, cut tile in half through center, then cut semicircles on both halves. Join them around the pipe.

WINDOW RECESS CUTTING

For recess areas, cut tile in “L” shape by marking center-to-edge and downward perpendicular line.

ACCESSORY TILES FITTING

Leave space for accessory tiles during normal laying. Apply adhesive on back and fix evenly with pressure.

TILE DRILLING

Use proper drill bits, low speed, water cooling to avoid cracks. Support tile while drilling.
